Oxford-River Books English-Thai Dictionary
By Anonymous
Unless you know how to read Thai script, do not waste your money.
If you know how to read Thai script, this will be a five star purchase for you (even if it does cost sixty dollars). Otherwise, this is a complete waste of money.
In order to get any use out of this book, I'll need to learn how to read Thai script first. Then, I'll need to learn how to pronounce the words by reading the Thai script.
The only reason I'm giving this two stars is because it has so many word entries.
But if you're like me, and you just want to know how to say / pronounce specific words (not only how they're spelled), save your money and get this book instead:
New Thai-English, English-Thai Compact Dictionary for English Speakers with Tones and Classifiers
[...]
I own this book as well. Actually, I've purchased two now (one stays in the USA with me, & I've sent the other to my in-laws for when I visit Thailand). It has almost 30,000 word entries, it's under fifteen dollars, and most importantly, it has English-like pronunciation spelling so I have an idea of how to say the words.
Why couldn't Oxford-River figure out how to do that, and at four times the cost?

A great reference dictionary for Thai
By Tai Kee Ho
This dictionary must have been the most extensive one out there for an English-Thai dictionary. It has come in handy for my work as a Thai translator and an academic writer. The entries and definitions are up to date. I now have two copies of the dictionary: one for work and one for home. Though I do own other dictionaries at home (I have around ten Thai-English, English-Thai, Thai-Thai and specialized dictionaries), but this one is what I use the most.
If you're serious about learning Thai and can read Thai, this dictionary is the one to purchase. This is also true for a Thai speaker who is serious about learning English.
